bowling

It’s that time of year again to think about joining a “fun” fall league. The Friday Foursomes Bowling League will be starting on Friday, September 2nd and end on Friday, November 18th. That’s a total of only 12 weeks, so it doesn’t interfere with the holiday season. Currently we have approximately 20 teams signed up, but we can always add more teams. You can sign up as an individual and I will get you placed on a team or you can sign up with three of your friends as a total team. This is a “Fun League” in which many bowlers are beginners, but the league is a good social experience where you get to meet your BP neighbors. If you are interested in joining the league, please contact Bud Naylor via eMail (naylorwa@atmc.net) or phone at 287-5622. I have created a web site for the league, so please visit and take a look at the roster of teams, rules and announcements. View the “Roster of Teams” page and see which of your Brunswick Plantation neighbors are already bowling in the league. The web site is:   http://naylorwa.wix.com/fridayfoursomes

Ladies, come join our league at Little River Bowling Lanes!  August 24th is our organizational meeting at 9:15am at the lanes with free bowling afterwards.  August 31st is when we start the season.  It lasts until April 5th, 2017.  No bowling for holidays, November 23rd and December 28th.  There is a luncheon and awards on April 12, 2017.  Contact Carol Horwitz @ 287-4099 with any questions

supper club2

Our Sunday Night Supper Club is resuming this fall with its first gathering on Sunday, October 2nd beginning at 6 p.m.  We invite anyone who is not already a part of this food loving group to attend so that they can find out personally what we are all about.   We try to schedule Sunday Suppers at different intervals beginning in the Fall through the following May, leaving the winter holiday months open for other events and the summer open for visits from family/friends.  Suppers are served buffet style with each person/couple being assigned a part of the evening meal, (i.e. protein, starch, veggie or dessert). Admission is the covered dish you were assigned and a $1 charge at the door to cover the cost of a wonderful tossed salad and any rolls that may be served on that night.  Coffee/tea is served with dessert but all guests bring their own soda, beer, wine or alcoholic drinks as none of these are provided.  The fun part of these evenings begin after dessert with a DVD presentation, most usually featuring a stand up comedian, or a DVD of either outtakes or full sketches from some of the great comedy shows we all watched back in the day.   If you think you would enjoy meeting new friends and a great home cooked supper with some of you neighbors, as well as a few laughs, why not join us on October 2nd?  Don’t forget, sign up is with Emily (not the office) and you can reach her at 287-5508 or through her email @ teahouse@atmc.net.
