Paris, the city of love in a classic, vintage style, was the wedding dream of new bride, Victoria Briggs. Hence, the Paris theme of Victoria’s magical day as she wed the “Man of her Dreams”, Dustin Johnson. Their wedding at Brunswick Plantation and Golf Resort was on April 20, 2013. Dustin’s proposal on April 20, 2012 was timed to please his beloved who had already chosen April 20 as her wedding date. Their love was a Romance at First Glance when they met on July 31, 2010, and they have been together ever since! Ah, Love!
Victoria has stated that she could not imagine having her wedding anywhere but Brunswick Plantation. She has worked many Destination Weddings at Brunswick Plantation, always keeping in mind creative ideas for her own wedding. Victoria considers Brunswick Plantation her second home …She is part of the BP Family! Robin Hicken, the BP wedding planner, is a good friend and was a member of the wedding party. How great is that…So personal! Marcy Anderson, another member of the Brunswick Family, was also a bridesmaid. It does “Take a Village”! Brunswick Plantation is the Village of choice!
What does a classic, vintage Paris wedding look like, you might be wondering. Picture a tiered wedding cake topped with the majestic Eiffel Tower linked to a smaller cake on either side…A bridal figure atop the one on the right and a figure depicting the groom with his guitar on the left. The guitar is perfect for the musically talented Dustin, who plays the guitar and sings …Especially to his lovely bride! Dustin wrote a song for Victoria and sang it to her at their wedding. How romantic is that…All for Love!
A delicious wedding feast with the main course chicken/pineapple/teriyaki/and stuffed pork loin was lovingly prepared in the 19th Hole/Jasmines kitchen.
Music and dancing were another major theme in the celebration of the marriage of Victoria and Dustin. Bridesmaids, attired in beautiful, off the shoulder black gowns and carrying bouquets of red roses and feathers danced down the aisle with their groomsmen partners clad in classic black tuxedos, red vests, and red ties with boutonnieres of red roses and feathers. Each couple’s dance was lively and individual… An expression of the joyous spirit of the day!
Here comes the Bride… walking gracefully toward the elegant white wedding arbor set in the natural setting of vibrant flowers along a tree lined path within sight and sound of a flowing fountain…The Fountain of Life and Love! Victoria, glowing in her elegant white floor length gown with the arched open front, glided gracefully to meet her handsome intended, Dustin, at the altar. Her father, Mike, in a black Tuxedo with red vest and tie, stood by do the honors as the father of the bride.
Leo, the devoted Japanese Chin ring bearer, was accompanied down the aisle by Carol Schiavo, our own BP Chef. Seeing Leo in his little doggie Tux come down the aisle is a special memory for Victoria…Doggie love!
Love was all around… at this properly designed wedding! Everything was according to the desires and dreams of Victoria and Dustin! The reception was held at Brunswick Plantation in the indoor restaurant and bar with two adjoining white open-air tents….To accommodate the 200 guests. The décor at the reception was also vintage Paris with lights all around and disco balls reflecting bouncing lights across scene. The table centerpieces …some square with photos inside a mirrored vase with an Eiffel Tower on top and others in a narrow vase lit with waterproof lights and water beads topped with an ostrich feather tree…were classic Paris with an art nouveau flair! Flower petals were everywhere…floating or resting with care!
The wedding Reception…Let the Festive Fun begin!
Celebrate the good times, come on! There’s a party goin on right here
A celebration to last throughout the years
So bring your good times and your laughter too
We gonna celebrate your party with you! (compliments of Kool and the Gang)
Victoria and Dustin swung out in “Dirty Dancing” style and wowed the crowd when he lifted his new bride into the air! Victoria and her dad, Mike, also led off a dance in the skillful steps… Gangnam Style!
Everyone was Dancing in the Night!
There was a photo booth set up for wedding guests to have their photos taken throughout the evening…They could also keep a photo strip of their pictures to take home. Copies of the photos were also made for Victoria’s scrapbook.
Each guest received as a favor of a koozie with “I survived Dustin and Victoria’s wedding but my feet were not so lucky!” emblazoned on it on one side and a picture of a Bride dragging a Bridegroom with…”I got one…The fun has just begun!” on the other side.
Victoria and Dustin danced through the night with their guests and visited with family and friends on Sunday. Then they flew off to Cancun to the condo they own at the… All inclusive…Adventura Spa Palace Resort! They enjoyed all of the amenities of the resort and did fun and sometimes exhilarating excursions: repelling, zip lining, kayaking, and swimming in a cave.
