Here at Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort, a coastal carolina gated community, we believe Smart Spending is a Better Way of Life. Want to save hundreds OR thousands? Take 5 minutes and read on to learn how in Smart Spending Tips Monthly: November 2013.
This November is a dream come true for those searching for deals. There are many items discounted this month, specifically near Black Friday and Cyber Monday ( Friday and Monday after Thanksgiving are traditionally big days for sales with retailers). But note that not everything is a deal this month. Be sure to buy the sales and wait on other items for the best bang for your buck.
Looking for Deals? …Here they are.
Candy. If you or someone you may be buying birthday or holiday gifts for have a sweet tooth then look for big discounts in early November. All that Halloween candy that didn’t sell will need to be moved and retailers and manufacturers will be offering coupons and discounts big time.
Black Friday is the optimal time to get a big savings on computers. Searching for Apple product? Expect price cuts up to 20% from retailers like MacMall.com, MacConnnection.com, and Amazon.com. Generally, look for savings on electronics in the first half of November.
Cookware. Yes, just in time for holiday cooking, look for discounts on pots, pans, and kitchen utensils and accessories. In fact, November is the best month of the year to buy cookware. Find mark downs of 30% to 80%. Again, look for steep discounts on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Frozen turkeys. Stock up on discounted Turkeys after Thanksgiving. Freeze them and use them later say during the December Holidays. Some retailers even have free turkey giveaways with varying promotional schemes.
Black Friday is known for super low TV prices to get customers in the store. Find huge savings on off brand models but realize the supplies are limited. There will be many deals on HDTV’s from 33-47″ and a few on 55″ and above. But the best deals on brand name big screen TVs and home entertainment systems don’t have until January and February.
Wedding dresses. Due to lower demand for dresses by brides in November and December prices drop and sales abound. If you are planing to get married in the coming year find a steal during these months and spend more on that honeymoon. Wedding supplies also go on sale these months.
Don’t Buy These Just Yet …
Toys. The most sought after toys are marked down more starting in December with lowest prices about 2 weeks before Christmas. However, don’t wait until the week before or you will see price hikes. Retailers know those last-minute shoppers are desperate and not as price sensitive.
Video games. New games are in high demand in the Holiday season. Look for discounts of 25-30% in January when demand drops…depending on the game.
Winter apparel. Apparel retailers want to move all their winter gear by the last week in January. Usually they must have big clearance sales and other promotions to make this happen. Look for 2 for 1 deals and prices up to 60% off sales price.
