Golf News from the Pro 10.13 at Brunswick Plantation

Golf News from the Pro picHello to everyone!

Welcome to this month’s Golf News from the Pro.  October is here and immediately we all start to think about the holidays coming.  October also means cooler days which makes it very pleasurable to play golf.  Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort Course Superintendent Rob Vaughn is preparing our course for winter maintenance at this point.  All of our teeing areas have been over seeded with rye grass.  Our fairways and greens will be painted again this year.  The rough will remain dormant.  Rob was featured in the Carolinas Green magazine and was given many complements on this trend he has set in this area.  “Master Painter” Rob Vaughan continues to keep our course in fine condition.  Great Job!

I would like to congratulate Dave Mambro and Susan Kenny for winning the Club Championships this year.  Well done to both of you!  Great playing!  Thanks to all of you that made this years tournament a great success. Those of you that did place in your flight were given a 2014 driving range membership.  This will be valid starting January 1, 2014.  Good playing!

Finally, most of you I hope have received the 2014 golf rates.  Again no increase.  Thank you Mason Anderson, Jimmy McLamb, and Tripp Sloane for maintaining the rates.  For those of you planning to make monthly payments please bring a copy of the card you wish to use to me for my records.  Annual full payments are due by December 31, 2013.

One last thought.   For those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting Dave Williams checking in our pro-shop he has decided to retire as of October 15, 2013.  Thank you Dave for your loyalty to me and Brunswick Plantation.  You will be missed.

Happy Golfing,
