Pumpkin Flower Vase

Forego the spider webs and jack-o-lanterns this year.  Instead, try a more natural style when decorating with pumpkins.  It’s as easy as cutting out a hole in any pumpkin and then placing some beautiful fall flower blooms inside.

Gather Materials

Collect Your Materials

Try to choose seasonal flowers in a fall color.  Include natural pieces from the yard, like berries, twigs, and leaves to create that earthy feel.  Keep the arrangement interesting by using a variety of textures, colors, and shapes.

Prep Your Pumpkin

Prepare the Pumpkin

First, you must cut off the top.  Then remove the inside pumpkin material.  Next, insert a piece of florist foam or oasis material that has been cut to fit and soaked in water.  Make sure to keep the oasis material moist and your pumpkin will last a solid week.  To mix it up try different types of pumpkins like this ‘Fairytale’ one.

Arrange Flowers

Arrange Flowers

Separate your flowers by color.  Then pair similar colors and flowers to create a bigger impact.  Create a softer style by placing amaranth and leaves just above the pumpkin lip.  Remember, the flowers should be low enough to see over when you have guests at the table.

We hope you enjoyed this how to post.  We’d love to see what you come up with this season.  Post your pics to facebook and be sure to let us know if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions.
