iron man 3Recent Business Development for North Carolina include the Deer Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corporation’s plans to expand its operations  just outside Winston-Salem.  This expansion is expected to create 340 jobs by the end of 2016 and include an investment of $97 million in an existing facility.  Additionally, the movie Iron Man 3 was filmed in and around Wilmington, North Carolina injecting about $180 million in spending and over 2000 jobs.  In fact, the movie and tv production in Wilmington, North Carolina has been growing over the past few years.

What does  this mean for you as a retiree or relocator?    Recent studies indicate that Boomers consider themselves more entrepreneurial than other generations.  They are also most likely to be considering a 2nd career or business in a new locale.  If this is you then consider North Carolina as a state with open arms.
