4th of July kids 

4TH of July Community Parade at Brunswick Plantation

4TH of July Parade starts on N. Middleton & Beauvoir Drive at 9am…Continues to Stanton Hall (First left) make a left onto Stanton Hall to Beauvoir Drive, make a left on Beauvoir Drive and continue to N. Middleton, where the parade will end.

Bring a lawn chair and a flag and view the parade at any of the above locations. Come out and cheer on your friends and neighbors!

Participants include Fire trucks, cars and motorcycles, Fire trucks and golf carts, bikes and walkers to include organizations like the Elks and Knights of Columbus.  EMS and the Sherriff will be there, also. These folks are to arrive at 8:30am and get in line.

5th Annual Intracoastal Model RR Club Train Show at Brunswick Plantation

Calling all train enthusiasts…Come out and play with model trains at the Brunswick House on July 6th & 7th …10am – 4pm                                          

Public is Invited & Admission is FREE!

Featuring many model train layouts in various scales! There will be children’s layouts for kids to run!(Serving railroader’s lunch: 11am – 2:30 pm)  Special Services: Will lubricate trains in running condition & recommend renovation services for locomotives that don’t run. A 50:50 Raffle will benefit the IMRRC education services….They will raffle a new train set!   Bring the whole family and Join the model train Fun at Brunswick Plantation. Guests just tell the gatehouse that you are going to the train show. Welcome to BP for a Train Holiday!


Lakes Social Committee …First Party of the Season

Folks from The Lakes and Smithfield…Bring your family and friends to enjoy the evening at the Brunswick House on Sunday, June 30th from 7 to 9:30pm. David Chaney, (Elvis) will be back to perform, as requested by residents. Bring hors d’oeuvres, snacks or whatever you choose to share with people at your table. BYOB… Soda will be provided.& ice is available.  50/50 Raffle and door prizes! Adults…$10 & Teens…$5…Children under 5…FREE.  Sign up in Facilitator’s office…Payment at time of sign-up. Neighbors in Service Events & Announcements

*NIS Beach Event & Dessert on Thursday , June 20th…4:30 at Sunset Beach Grab your towel and chair , drinks or even dinner and join your friends and neighbors for a fun gathering under the sun! NIS will supply Dessert! Please sign up in the facilitator’s office so they will know how much dessert to bring. Yum! Yum! Under the Sun! Ya’ll Come!

*NIS will host its largest fundraiser lunch and games on Tuesday, July 23rd from 11am -3pm at Ryan’s Restaurant, 3607 Highway, North Myrtle Beach. Cost for lunch and games…$15. All proceeds will benefit 2013 charities…Hope Harbor, Canine Angels, & Food Pantry which is sponsored by the Interchurch Council.  Invite your friends for your tables and bring your favorite games.  There will be drawings for prizes and cash during this event! Please purchase lunch through the Facilitator’s office by July 16.  Join us for Fundraiser FUN!

*NIS and Brunswick Literacy Council needs your help! Book Club members: At the next club meeting, vote on your favorite children’s book. Consider donating that book to NIS Or clean out your bookshelves! Take your books to Pelican Bookstore at Sunset Beach. They will give you “Store Credit” to use for gently used children’s books. Children and young adult books can be placed in the designated crate at the Brunswick House during the month of July. NIS and the Brunswick Literacy Council “Thank You” for your donations!

*NIS sponsoring Holocaust Survivor Talk…Holocaust survivor, Alfred Schnog, will be speaking sat the Brunswick House at 7pm on Tuesday, October 1st.  Mark your calendars for this interesting presentation.


Fun Staying Fit at Brunswick Plantation

*Afternoon Yoga at the Brunswick House for golfers & other active folks!

Yoga can:

  • ·        Increase your flexibility & range of motion
  • ·        Improve you mental concentration, balance,  and core strength
  • ·        Help you stay present, focused, and calm

 Classes will be on Tuesdays at 3:00pm in the Brunswick House:

Stepping it up with the BP FREE Exercise Program

Free Exercise Program, offered by the BP Social Committee on M-W-F at 8am is now stepping it up with a Saturday morning session for a full “4 mile” walk complete with warm up & cool down. All you need is a good pair of walking shoes/sneakers and the desire to start a great program. (Remember to bring your water.)

*Pelican’s Game with Myrtle Beach Pelicans on July 18th, 2013…Pelicans VS Wilmington Blue Rocks.  The National Anthem will be performed by Soaring Angels, Brunswick Ladies who attend Seaside United Methodist Church. Brunswick Plantation residents & friends will sit together in reserved box seats @ $8 per ticket.  Bring you check made out to the POA to the Facilitator’s office to reserve your seat by June 21st. Strawberry Moon 

*Full Moon Gathering on Sunset Beach…Left of the Pier

Strawberry Moon…June 23rd …This name was universal to every Algonquin tribe. In Europe they called it the Rose Moon. Because the relatively short season for harvesting strawberries comes each year during the month of June, the full moon that occurs during that month was christened for the strawberry. Happy Moon Viewing!
